You only left about one more garbage bag of garbage after you were all gone. Not a record, but we cleaned up in a mere few minutes. :-) OK, here's my report, sunmitted for your deconstruction. Friday, my boss commented on how I seem to be leaving a bit early recently, so my plans for getting everything doen early went flying out the window - I stayed in the office until 5. Then, hitting rush hour, i made my way to the food store to pick up stuff that I could have bought at any time during the whole week, but decided to wait...duh. A huge accident forced me to make several detours and it was almost an hour and a half before I returned home. Pattie cooked furiously, as she does, I straightened things none of you would notice if they weren't straightened. Appearing cool and calm, I was waiting when someone arrived on time. It was pattie's sister Maggie, in her usual costume, dressed as a security guard for a construction site. In dribs and drabs, people arrived, Don and his lovely sword, and his lovely wife, Deana, with beer that I forsaw would be stranded in my fridge. In due course, my students Matt and Giulia and her fiancee Ernesto showed, and a coworker of mine, Emma and the usual RMAM "gang of idiots" Richard's superior Asian self, Joaoaoaoaoaoaoaoaoao and Jen, looking remarkably like herself, in a HOT pink scary dress and blonde wig. Subtle, yet reassuring. As reported, the RMAM'ers took some time for photo ops and sword comparisons. Being the only Chinese stylist there, I had no little task in explaining how mine is used. Rich was skeptical. "Subtle, schmubtle." he opined. The whole time this was happening, the non MODs were watching "Ghost in the Shell." Rich then lead us through a strange tour of his head, in the form of videos. Ranma was without a doubt a huge hit, and mostly everyone will now comb stores looking for the videos. Whwn we finished with this he popped in some music videos and people started to dribble away. After goodbyes for most,"Ninja Scroll" was the feature. You're right Rich, the animation was very good. Jen took the story much more seriously than I did, proving that she is the perfect audience, while I remain a severe annoyance to thorough enjoyment of a good flick. Then, as the evening peaked, Rich reluctantly put on "Ogenki Clinic" which was much funnier than it intended. There were four cases, but in order to understand the last one, you had to have watched another set of cases, so we had no idea what the ending meant. Not that it mattered...the second case, was set up like a video game. It was pretty darn funny. Don, Rich left Ogenki Clinic with me, so you can borrow it. I guess he feels you need an education... My favorite lines for the night were "school of indiscriminate grappling," "I have just been attacked by a girl with no manners," and my favorite, "Whip me silly, Ruko." That was the evening that was. Pictures will be forthcoming ASAP. Thanks all for coming and joining in the silliness that has become MA-MODS. Cheers, Erica I vianmis ke a noteri gnosi mu i perveni esas tous kinus thnitous.
